Its official, we are launched into September (or at least that’s how it feels to our nervous systems right about now), and so here I sit, in my Conscious Coaches Corner (at the cottage this weekend), with my bare feet on the ground, helping my nervous system follow their lead.
This is a practice I want to share with all my heart-centric leaders out there who, like me, are sensitive to the intensity of the energy that comes with transitions of any kind.
I know firsthand as an empath, how challenging it can be to stay consciously at the helm in your self-leadership when change happens fast and practices like these (getting grounded, centered, back in your alignment) are my go-to strategy for optimal adaptability and resiliency.
When we integrate practices like these that help us get grounded in the here and now present moment, it helps us lower our stress response (which is triggered by uncertainty, change, the unknown), and opens up our cognitive capacity to think clearly and most consciously about that which we can control and that which is most aligned for us, our mission, our people and our purpose.
An upregulated nervous system has us leading ourselves from a space and place of fear, which restricts our perspective and thus, our resources. Whereas a down regulated nervous system has us leading ourselves from a space and place of intuition, which expands our perspective, helping us acquire more resources (better data), and helps us operate from self-trust (not self-doubt).
Most importantly, this strategy of stepping consciously to helm in our self-leadership (fully present and aware of where you’re at, what’s actually in front of you and the context within which both sit) helps us open up shop cognitively speaking and step into the portal of curiosity, courage and creativity.
I know we all, to some degree, are feeling the winds of change accelerating in every area of our leadership, not only here in these early weeks of September, but in the ethers too – in our homes, our communities, our businesses and our planet. And as an empathic leadership coach with her finger on that collective pulse, I feel called to invite you into my Conscious Coaches Corner, where we can co-create practices that help us think, feel and consciously lead ourselves through this portal of possibility optimally, so that we can ascend and thrive (not just survive) our way into this next chapter in our collective journey.
My mission and life’s work is to change the way the game is being played through Conscious Leadership and what better moment to answer the collective call, to consciously step to this helm and collaborate with you, the inspiration behind it all, my teammates – when the game IS changing and we are collectively being called to co-create the new playbook.
Stay tuned for more Conscious Coaches Corner content coming your way this fall, from our locker rooms to yours.
Your highest potential IS my passion, so let’s unleash it together!
