“Vision is the art of seeing the invisible” – Jonathan Swift
I envision a world where belonging, wellbeing & high-performance are commonplace in the workplace. I am inspired by that vision because I worked in the opposite environment, it led to years of suffering through mental health problems & it almost cost me my life. I am on a mission to teach leadership 2.0 (people-centric, high-impact leadership) so people can avoid the suffering I had before it happens. Not only will those people have higher wellbeing at work, they’ll bring it home, to their families, communities and spread it everywhere.
The true vision is to change the game of life & business forever.
Globally. Is that big enough?
The high-performance benefit of a vision that inspires you is that you no longer need extrinsic motivation (or to “push” yourself to execute). The vision “pulls” you to sustainable & higher performance than any carrot & the stick strategy ever could.
There are many different ways that you can find your vision; you can turn pain into purpose (like I did), you can find a leader who inspires you with their vision and/or you can lean in with curiosity and explore how you can make the world a better place.
Ultimately, you need to shed the limitations of who you “should” be and what you “can” do, lean in to the incredible gifts inside of you and change the world.
As Rumi, a 13th century poet & scholar said, “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean, in a drop.”
Believe it. See it. Do it.
