“Having trouble staying motivated during COVID-19?

It’s true that it’s much easier to stay motivated and locked in on your goals when you’re around other people, like teammates, to push you and hold you accountable.

But what happens when we can’t have that? What happens when the gyms, rinks, and fields are closed and when you’re on your own?

It’s easy to lose sight of your WHY, your reason for working tirelessly to get better, stronger, and faster, when all of the responsibility and pressure is on you.

For the first time, you may be the one that is solely responsible for maintaining your own workout and school schedule and that can be frustrating when you feel like you’re cut off from your usual resources.

So, how can you help yourself reconnect with your motivation to succeed?

First, reconnect with your WHY – why do you love the game you play, why do you work so hard? Then connect with some internal traits and emotions that fuel you in your work like your grit, work ethic, or feelings of joy when playing.

Second, picture yourself as VIVIDLY AS POSSIBLE achieving your ULTIMATE GOAL.

And third, create both short and long term goals that you have control over, so that you can see yourself slowly progressing towards that ultimate goal on your roadmap to success.”
