It’s a new week and I am launching a new deep dive into a new brain training topic for the month ahead – Emotions 101.
I know this topic may catch you by surprise, but trust me when I tell you that there is nothing more high-performance than mastering your emotions. They’re the silent performance drivers in your brain, driving you up or driving you down, so if you aren’t in tune with your emotions, how the heck are you in tune with your performance?

The first key in building emotional intelligence is to identify what you are feeling and why – I call this emotional awareness, and it’s a mental skill that most people undervalue.
If peak performance and playing your biggest game is what you’re after, you simply must train this uber important skill.
Test your emotional awareness skills this week by setting an alarm on your phone to remind you to take your emotional pulse by stopping and checking in to test yourself by asking “what am I feeling right now and why am I feeling this way?”
Naming and claiming your emotions will open you up to a strategic entry point into your brain, showing where there is work to be done in your mental gym.
