Happy Monday,

The inspiration for today’s MoMonday motivational message came to me as I was working with one of my long time clients the other day. There is a lot that we all can learn from the example she brought through the door in this week’s session.

While she is highly focused and driven to achieve her long-term outcome goals with me, she suffers from a bad case of the avoidance pattern which threatens her process every now and again still.

It is a pattern that we all struggle with at some point along the way of any long-term goal setting and getting journey.

Let me explain.

As we learn in today’s ‘MoMonday Video: How to Reactivate Your Motivation’ (click here to watch), when we first start out towards the achievement of any new goal, we do so with our strongest level of motivation, driven by the desire to change.

At the beginning, our motivation is fully activated because we are clear and connected with the reason behind why we are headed down this road to begin with. I call this your ‘Why Factor’-why it is important for you achieve your goal (the purpose behind the goal).

What happens when you get a couple of weeks or even a couple of months into the process of change? Typically, you lose connection with your why factor because you are no longer focused on the end-goal. Instead, you are focused on the difficulty of change and the roadblocks that stand in your way.

Focusing too much on your roadblocks is a sure-fire way to kill your motivation.

That is why I want you to do this week’s MoMonday exercise-I promise, it is the best way to reactivate your motivation.

Until next time, make every performance count!
