Happy Labour Day Monday,
That’s right…its Labour Day, my high-performance friend. And I’m in the office labouring away so that I can bring you this week’s special Labour Day edition of MoMonday, where I share with you my favourite tool to use on holidays like these.
Labour Day officially marks the end of summer. Whoever said “time flies when you’re having fun” sure knew what they were talking about, didn’t they?
I love the summer months-chalk full of 10/10 experiences: time spent up north at the cottage, swimming in lakes and beautiful swimming pools, travelling, patios, BBQ’s, quality time with quality people…
One of my favourite coaching tools to use on holidays like this one, which mark the end of something great, is practicing “The Attitude of Gratitude”. I teach my client that it is the quickest route to happiness and who can argue with the fact that that happiness is an extremely high-performance state?
In this week’s MoMonday Video: Happy Labour Day (click here to watch), I show you how to use this tool yourself to access and abundantly grateful and thus happy, high-performance state.
In fact, I used this tool myself this morning when I went for my run. I put on one of my favourite playlists and watched the sun rise as I ran and remembered all of the 10/10 summer experiences that I had this summer, in my work, with my daughter, with my friends and even the many personal victories I achieved in my health and self realms.
I know Labour Day is a holiday dedicated to taking a break from “work”, but trust me when I say that just 5 mins spent working on yourself and your mindset is work you don’t want to take a break from. The return on investment of that time, energy and focus will fuel you big time in the fall season ahead.
Until next time, happy Labour Day and remember to make every performance count!
