I am getting ready to speak to a group of health practitioners next week about how to improve their businesses and their overall results with clients using NLP (Neuro-Lingusitic Programming). As you all know, I use NLP every single day to drive my personal and professional results to the next level and thought I would take this opportunity to share with all of you how I do so.
NLP was first developed to model patterns of excellence so that their behavior could be transferred (modeled) and their results could be replicated (intentionally, reliably and consistently). What this means is that NLP teaches us how to identify the brain patterns and physiological correlates that help us produce reliably successful results. Pretty cool stuff if you ask me.
I first discovered NLP when I was investigating how to better help my athletes produce more reliably successful results. I was first intrigued by the prospect of having a set of tools that could help enhance my client’s performance on the drop of a dime. As we all know, the quicker the better when it comes to high-performance.
NLP teaches you all about the art of influence; how we influence ourselves and thus, the environment around us. I refer to it as an art because we are in a constant and continuous co-collaboration with our experience. We create our results, often times unconsciously, but nonetheless, we create them and NLP teaches us how to identify the strategies we use to influence the results we produce.
Isn’t that exciting? The idea that you can learn to influence your results? The idea that you can develop tools that help you duplicate successful results-even the ones other people have?
In my opinion, that is what makes one an Elite High Performer; somebody that looks for any and all competitive advantages. Tools and strategies that will help them train their brain’s to produce powerfully predictable results time and time again.
Until next time, make every performance count!
